Foster Care Scholarships & Grants in New Jersey

Foster Care Scholarships
Foster and Adoptive Family Services (FAFS) offers many scholarships for foster children and children adopted from foster care in NJ. As administrators of the NJFC Scholars Program, FAFS has helped countless young people in foster care, adopted from foster care, and in KLG care achieve their dreams of pursuing a post-secondary education.
Each year, FAFS holds numerous "A Night With the NJFC Scholars Program" events to help eligible students complete the FAFSA and the NJFC Scholars application. To learn more, please download A Night With the NJFC Scholars Program Info Sheet.
FAFS also provides privately funded scholarships and grants for New Jersey foster children and children adopted from DYFS who are high school seniors. Learn more about our foster youth scholarships and independent living opportunity grants, or click here to apply.
Please note that FAFS' Private Scholarships & Opportunity Grants for Foster Youth and the NJFC Scholars Program are SEPARATE foster care scholarships. In some cases, students may qualify for both programs. If you have questions about foster care scholarships and grants available through FAFS, please call 1.800.222.0047 and ask for the Scholarship Department or send an e-mail to scholarships@fafsonline.org.
