In part one of this four part training series, you will be introduced to the basics of disaster preparedness. Disasters can be chaotic for everyone, but as a resource parent you have the additional challenge of having to follow DCP&P policy, while keeping your family safe at the same time. Though emergency situations may be unpredictable, you can take steps today that will help your family survive and persevere. The course will cover important steps of preparation such as developing a family emergency plan, making emergency kits, and how to psychologically prepare children for disastrous events. It will also discuss the types of natural disasters most common to New Jersey so you know what to expect. This program includes an informational booklet and review questions.
